We were contacted by a customer in Budleigh Salterton who needed new wooden windows throughout their home. As the property was a Grade II listed Devon Longhouse, we needed to design, manufacture and install heritage wooden windows.
For this project, we built replacement traditional flush-hung timber casement windows with ovolo moulded casement sections and bead mouldings to the vertical frame sections. We used sapele hardwood and factory-spray finished the windows with Sikkens Satin Aquamarine paint on the exterior and a clear satin finish on the interior. With the glazing for these windows, we used 12mm heritage D/G units, which our glaziers puttied in.
Once all windows and frames had been spray finished, the team started hanging the windows within the frames.

After hanging the windows, our team puttied in the glazing panels into the window frames.

The final manufactured windows were safely transported to the site, ready for installation by our fitting team.

Our installation team carefully fitted the timber windows to this listed building in Budleigh Salterton, ensuring minimal disruption and a flawless finish.

This Grade II listed Devon Longhouse in Budleigh Salterton has now been transformed with new timber windows, designed to replicate the existing windows. Finished in a striking aquamarine colour, these windows have brightened the overall look of this home. These new windows now add long-lasting value and provide improved efficiency, durability, and security.
